Practicum Experience
with Chef Antonello Colonna

While studying abroad in Italy during the fall of 2013, I spent a full day at Michelin Star Chef Antonello Colonna's resort and spa. Through a round-table discussion, tour of the property, and three-course meal, I was able to hear Chef Colonna's personal story first hand. His vision for the resort and spa is to create a completely sustainable get-away for anyone from a traveling international couple to a business trip. Seeing Chef Colonna's diversity first hand both challenged and encouraged me to become a diversified individual in the hospitality industry.

Pi Chi for Sorority Recruitment

I was selected as one of 90 Junior and Senior girls in the Greek community to serve as a Pi Chi during Sorority Recruitment in August of 2012. I was responsible for leading and caring for fifteen incoming freshman girls as they participated in Recruitment for six days.

JH Ranch: Summer Camp Counselor

I spent the summer of 2011 serving at JH Ranch as a Programs staff member. As a member of the Programs team, I was a trained facilitator for both high and low ropes course activities. Additionally, I developed invaluable interpersonal skills as I served as a "coach" for various teams of teenage girls over the course of the summer. Partnering with a male coach, we led our team through various team-building and leadership-developing activities including a three-day hiking trip through the wilderness as well as a three-day white-water rafting excursion.

LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

In addition to both educational and professional experience, I have had several unique opportunities that have further developed my leadership skills. Both locally and internationally, these are a few of my most recent experiences in leadership positions.
